I am 98 days into the carnivore diet and so far like the results. One thing I do is when I say my prayer over the meat I'm about to partake of, I ask Heavenly Father to thank the animals for their sacrifice for me. It is a almost always a spiritual experience for me.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11248324060479671057noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9163445064162042789.post-75048012487476392212019-03-06T07:40:38.219-08:002019-03-06T07:40:38.219-08:00I would like to add some insight about the passage...I would like to add some insight about the passage of the Word of wisdom. Do you notice the order that the Word of Wisdom is written? First it warns us about wordly influences, tells us what to specifically avoid in any circumstances. Then it tells us first that wholesome herbs God hath ordained for the constitution...of man. Every fruit im seson thereof. The it says meat is to be used sparingly, and for the use of man in winter or cold or famine. Lastly he talks about grains. He saysgrain is ordained for use of man, just like he said for herbs, fruits, and meats, then is D+C 89:15 it states: And these hath God made(grains) for the use of man ONLY in times of famine, and excess hunger.
So again, the Word of Wisdom is in a list form. First herbs and fruit he wants us to eat, second eat meat sparingly, and in winter or famine, last grain is ONLY for famine and excessive hunger. It's in the order of what he wants our priorities for food to be, Herbs and fruit, than meat, and if you don't have any of those, the LAST RESORT is grain.

Me and my husband have also done research into modern fruits and vegetables, and how they lack the same nutrients thatvthey had 50 years ago due to industrialization and factory farming, so we would have tp eat excessive amounts of fruit/vegatables in order to get the nutrients we need, so due to the amount pf nutrients that remain to be found in meats we've interpreted the reduced about of nutrients in fruit and vegtables to be a famine of sorts. That is just our personal interpretation.Gracehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02895932973412834536noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9163445064162042789.post-78985073016263997132018-12-01T23:48:25.087-08:002018-12-01T23:48:25.087-08:00Hey everyone! Each time I have prayed to know the truth for myself. I believe that God wants me to be healthy if for no other reason then to be able to better serve his other children.

As I am currently on the carnivore diet I was concerned about asking for the priest to bless a small morsel of turkey and this blog post popped up in the search.James E. The article and the comments have all put my mind and my heart at rest. I have been toying with the idea of going away from all the processed carbs and back to higher fats but the WoW has been used against me a few times to put doubt in my mind. I guess it shouldn't have been an issue since I am currently unhealthy and to continue following the word of wisdom as others interpret it, and what may appear to be face value (not thinking of the times difference), is causing me serious afflictions.

I have always had issues with what I felt were blessings that just didn't work out attached to a promise that I felt I was doing so well at keeping my end of. But as you say in the article and what rings as clear truth in my heart... the carbs that are tearing up my insides are actually less in season than the availability of meat back then. Here I am worried about not having the blessings despite trying to follow the wow and infact this could very well be an example of me not getting blessings for simply not following it. Eat the whole pig, not just bacon. I also look at verse 15 of the Word of Wisdom as giving clarification about "All grain" in verse 14 not about eating meat. "And these [references "all grain is ordained for the use of man and of beasts"]. Also, verse 13 (to me anyway) suggests that it isn't a good idea to restrict meat to only times of winter, cold, or famine. I guess it is the primal glasses I'm wearing.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
